This is truly a must for all travellers. The location and resort is absolutely beautiful. The water and diving is magnificent. The sea is crystal clear and warm. The service is outstanding, the staff waited on us at all times and were always friendly and helpful. It was our 21st wedding anniversary and we were treated To candlelight dinners on the beach with the table set on the waters edge. Not a breath of wind. The beach chalets are spacious, modern, private and modern.
The spa is even more breathtaking than the resort which is saying something. The spa got voted the best spa resort in Africa and there is no question as to why an absolute must for all.

We cannot explain how truly remarkable this place is and being South African we are very proud. We travel extensively and this is truly a slice of paradise.

    The resort suits couples best.

The beach chalets are really on the beach, the waters really are clear and torquoise blue and indigo bay provides a delightful beach holiday and the staff are great ambassadors for the mozambique people with delightful dispositions and “can do” attitude. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this beach break following two plus weeks in southern africa and though we stayed at top rated hotels everywhere, indigo bay provided the best food! My only criticism is that the activities and extras, not included in the “all inclusive” package are quite pricey and even annoying. For example we need to take a “box lunch” today because we depart at noon and will not have a chance to buy lunch due to awkward travel arrangements…….even though all meals are included they want $10 per box lunch…..spa treatments are new york city prices…….still no place is absolutely perfect and this one comes pretty close, especially where it matters.

Just returned from 7 nights at Indigo Bay, Mozambique – this is a fantastic resort with the best staff I have ever experienced, fantastic extras to do, beautiful Spa and most of all they really have a great GM and the staff are there to make your stay memorable. Fabulous Beach chalets and just a great experience! We experienced Buffet and set menus and found the food to be great, just the pastry chef needs a bit of help maybe but food was great in general, people must remember it is an island and all the produce comes from SA! Logistical nightmare! Horse ride was the best of my life, fantastic horses and Domingos very good at schooling and looking after them. Really at great place and wonderful experience, keep it up Indigo.

If your thinking of looking for a paradise island, then this is it, my wife and I have been lucky to have travelled across various continents and countries and this has got to be the best holiday we have ever had. The staff cannot do enough for you, to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. The accomodation is not five star, but it is close to it, what it lacks in finesse, the staff and the surroundings makes up for it, in spades. The temperature in October is good, 25 to 30 c but it does get into the high 40s in Dec/Jan, so beware of these months if you cannot handle the heat.

The food is five star or michelin star quality and there is lots of it, if you want to indulge. You can have a packed cool box with food and cold drinks, beer or wine, for that lazy day on the beach or should I say beaches, there are plenty to choose from and we had most of them to oursleves. There is certainly no fighting over sun loungers as each beach chalet has its own palm grass covered beach padgoda.

If you are a fisherman, then this is heaven, marlin, sailfish, wahoo, tuna (yellow fin, skip jack and benito) abound in good numbers, as well as other game fish. If you have another half, who is not into fishing, then there’s horse riding, kayaking, crocodile spotting and a beautiful spa, which offers all sorts of treatments and various trips by boat or land cruiser. Everything you want to do, you will find the staff only too willing to help make sure your wish is granted.

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Indigo Bay and can honestly say it was the highlight of our trip. Having been on a weeks safari we were looking for a place to unwind before going back to work and reality. We found the perfect spot!!!

The flight over to the island was awe inspiring, beautiful turquoise, green and blue waters followed by the massive sand dunes welcoming us to Bazaruto Island. We were met by Indigo staff at the airstrip with fresh face towels and transported to the resort on the most delightful bus. After being greeted by the general manager we were whisked off to our rooms. Each couple/ family arriving were given a personal check in including a briefing on the Resort. This treatment made us feel very important and it continued through- out our stay.

The food was spectacular!!! I was impressed with the variety: Set Menus, Buffets and Platters all equally superb. My husband indulged in the freshest tasting crayfish, prawns, calamari and fish and I being a non seafood eater was extremely impressed with the options available. On the night of our buffet dinner I met the chef who was only too happy to explain his dishes with pride.

We spent most of our days relaxing but when we did manage to tear ourselves away from our sun loungers we had plenty of Activities to choose from. Paradise Island and a sunset dune boarding trip were incredible! The Spa located on the highest point of the resort is breath takingly beautiful and we indulged ourselves with as many treatments as we could fit in.

All in all it was a wonderful stay with the friendliest management and staff. We will be going back SOON.

We went to Indigo Bay on a family holiday with 2 toddlers. We were concerned regarding the food after reading reviews on Trip Advisor however had nothing to worry about! The food was incredible! Every meal was faultless and they made such an effort to satisfy all in our group, including the kids. The setting for supper was beautiful – on the beach, on the top of the hotel overlooking the ocean…. nothing was too much trouble. We had a celebratory lunch on a deserted island and it was spectacular. The staff assisted us with our every need and were friendly and inviting. The rooms were spacious and beautiful. The package included all meals, drinks and the mini bar so needless to say it was more than all inclusive. There are 2 pools, one with a kiddies pool and rock pools. the rooms are a stones throw away from the beach. We also participated in the scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing and dune boarding and every adventure was fun and well organised. This is truly a 5 star resort with every amenity you could wish for. Thank you to Indigo Bay for a holiday beyond expectations!

This hotel exceeded our expectations, the rooms are enormous, there are 2 showers-one inside, one outside, a bath with ocean view, beautiful garden with guinea fowls wondering about, hammocks. We had excursion to a Pansy island and it was very romantic and also did some sledging in the huge sand dunes ( very short drive from the hotel). Both excursions exceeded our expectations. And we did see an elusive dugong on our boat trip as well! The staff couldn`t be more friendly, asking if we slept well and checking if everything is wrking in our room. The whole experience was out of this world and beacuse most of the guests were honeymooners we had the whole bay to ourselves almost every day. I would recommend this hotel as a great holiday for a couple, a foodie lover (the food was so varied and delicious!) or honeymooners. Worth every penny! the only downside is the fact they don`t offer breakfast in your room , but that`s probably because the hotel grounds are huge.

My wife and I recently stayed here for a couple of days on our honeymoon. The place is fantastic! The staff are SUPER friendly they fall over their feet to assist you. I was lucky enough to meet the Deputy General Manager, Ross MacKay, he is a great asset for this resort, ad I do hope that they are looking after him well! The food was great and the service SUPERB. Fresh Seafood, Meat and poultry, all cooked to perfection. The drinks prices are very reasonable and they have an extensive wine list and all the international beverages that you are looking for.

Activities are a must, sandboarding, horseriding, phising etc. The most exciting of all the activities is a Trip to Santa Carolina a.k.a Paradise Island. The name says it all! Great diving, lots of reefs, beautifull fish. The hotel did a lovely seafood barbeque for us on the beach, and because this island is uninhabited, my wife and I were the only two people there!

The health spa is rated under the top 100 Health Spa’s in the world and deserves this accolade without a doubt! The facilities are world class and the ladies at the Spa very knowledgeable and firendly.

Being in the hosipitality industry myself, and managing a very exclusive hotel, I can comfortably say that Indigo Bay has been, and will be for a long time to come, the most exciting and fun holiday that I have ever had!
